Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) March 13, 2012
Broadview Entertainment Arts University, or BEAU, announces it will offer a music and entertainment business program at the new arts and production school. The program takes students behind the entertainment scene to learn the business of emerging digital distribution channels, social media trends, developing marketing strategies, managing artists and content, booking venues and promoting live tours. Students earn an associate of applied science (AAS) degree.
According to BEAU?s Dean of Programs Mitch Hare, ?This program is designed for people interested in the growing field of entertainment business in fields such as music, film, photography, writing and social media.?
Hare pointed out that even though the classes are fun, students must have business acumen.
?They need to be professional and focused,? Hare said. ?A passion for entertainment is as important as business knowledge. Entertainment professionals are very proactive, and we expect the same from our students.?
The demand for people who understand cutting-edge trends and practices in management and marketing entertainment is on the rise. O-NET, a leading database of occupational information, cites a bright outlook for this career category with a higher than average projected growth in career opportunities in the coming years.
Graduates may work in areas of media marketing, entertainment management and content production as talent agents and buyers, athlete marketing agents, artist managers, web developers, visual content producers and other media arts professionals.
Music and entertainment business is part of a group of entertainment and production programs offered at BEAU, where students collaborate with other creative individuals pursuing studio arts, production arts and entertainment business.
?The vision of our school,? Hare said, ?is to offer our students a culture of creativity, where they can truly be inspired to discover hidden talents and untapped potential.?
Classes in music and entertainment business at BEAU are currently under way, and the school is accepting student applications. Call 801.288.2787 or visit beau.broadviewuniversity.edu.
