AUSTIN (KXAN) - Texas, and every other state in the Union where petitions to secede were filed with the White House, aren't going anywhere.
That's the message now posted on the White House website.
A month after reaching the required number of signatures-- the Obama administration responded to nine different petitions yesterday-- regarding secession.
While thanking people from using the online forum, and acknowledging everyone's different opinions the response said: "... as much as we value a healthy debate, we don't let that debate tear us apart."
The response went on to note the founding fathers and the Constitution "did not provide a right to walk away from the union."
