Lingerie Review: Sonata Opaline Bodysuit ? The Lingerie Lesbian

Sonata Opaline Bodysuit

Sonata Opaline Bodysuit

You may remember this bodysuit from my holiday wishlist post. it?s no secret that I?ve been in love with Sonata?s bodysuits for some time? I?ve included them in plenty of posts! Sonata herself noticed my obsession and offered to send me my favorite color, which was incredibly sweet of her.

I was a little concerned before I got the lace bodysuit that it just wouldn?t suit me. In such a bodyhugging garment without either underwire for bust support or controlling elastic to create shaping, it can be quite a risky proposition to wear something that you have only seen look absolutely amazing on a model with a ?perfect figure.

Excited, but nervous, I opened up my package from Sonata Lingerie. Firstly, I loved the silk bag it was stored it, but I was in a bit too much of a rush to try the bodysuit to fully admire how handy it was. Getting it on was a breeze, despite the many buttons. The fit was absolutely perfect, quite a feat for a garment with almost no stretch. I loved the feel of the lace, the silk buttons and its sweet baby blue color.

Once I looked in the mirror, I basically yipped with excitement (no, it was not a sophisticated noise!). The bodysuit was completely beautiful. And I don?t know if I?ve ever felt more beautiful when wearing something, because it felt like it was the real me, in the loveliest wrapping ever.

I do love the properties about lingerie that shape, flatten or pad your body? it?s a lovely way to play dress up and can be very comfortable. But there is something particularly special about a piece of lingerie that does none of those things, that is just the completely natural ?you?? through a very lovely filter. The Sonata bodysuit was wonderfully comfortable because it fit me like a glove and it made me feel like I was the prettiest girl in the world, covered in pale blue lace. I can say without a doubt that I would buy another one of these and recommend them to anyone.

Just in case this review is inspiring you to rush out and snag yourself a gorgeous Sonata bodysuit, I?ll give you a more specific take on the fit. I found Sonata?s size chart very accurate (which isn?t always the case) if you follow your body measurements? and there is definitely at least an inch of leeway. I got the Medium, which is for a 36? bust, 28? waist and 39? hip and it fit me extremely well as I am about a 36? bust, 29? waist and 38? hip. Sonata lists that as a size 10 US/ 12 UK although I find that I am usually a size 8 US/ 12 UK. Basically, don?t go by US sizing, go by body measurement. Also, the bust area doesn?t offer much in the way of support, so I would be wary if you?re larger busted, but as I don?t really need much support I?m probably not the best person to say what would or wouldn?t work.

I should also add that the bodysuit is definitely comfortable enough to lounge about the house, but I?m scheming how to wear some sort of leotard or undershirt to make it slightly more appropriate to wear as a blouse? we?ll see how that goes. There are also handy snaps (poppers, to you Brits) at the crotch, so you don?t have that irritating experience of having to strip completely every time you have to use the bathroom. I have to say, I am a little sad I have to get dressed and go to work daily so I can?t just wear my bodysuit all the time! It just makes me feel so beautiful.

What do you think? Do you think the Sonata bodysuit is as lovely as I do?
